Racing: New Approach secured the fifth Group One success of his career with an impressive display in the Emirates Airline Champion Stakes at Newmarket.

The Vodafone Derby hero was sent off the 6-5 favourite to become the first horse since Sir Ivor in 1968 to be victorious at Epsom and Newmarket - and he did not disappoint.

Always travelling well, New Approach powered clear inside the distance to give Jim Bolger a second Group One victory of the afternoon after Intense Focus' Dewhurst success.

New Approach took over from his pacemaker Upton Grey three furlongs from home and soon began to pull away from the field.

The son of Galileo was well clear approaching the line and only had to be pushed out to score by six lengths, breaking the course record in the process.

Twice Over (8-1) stayed on gallantly to fill the runner-up spot, while Linngari (12-1) took third.

New Approach is only the third horse in history to complete the Dewhurst, Derby and Champion Stakes treble.
