London - The former MI5 officer, Mr David Shayler (34), was charged with a third offence under the Official Secrets Act yesterday when he appeared at Bow Street Magistrates' Court in London, Rachel Donnelly reports.
His solicitor, Mr John Wadham, of the civil rights campaign group, Liberty, admitted that the new charge of disclosing information obtained through a telephone tap had come as a surprise but said it would make it easier for Mr Shayler to fight the case.
