The team of female presenters that will front Dublin's new local television station highlighted its programme line-up at St Stephen's Green today.
Cliodhna O' Donoghue, Sarah Maunsell, Orla Rapple, Catherine Blake, Ali Sugg and Laura Wood are among the presenters on local TV service City Channel, which will start broadcasting in September.
Broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the channel aims to be a niche service providing dedicated information and entertainment specifically of interest to the Dublin area.
Programming will include lifestyle subjects such as motoring, property, local government, Dublin culture, what's-on guide, shopping and travel, in addition to transport and weather updates.
Irish Independent property editor Cliodhna O' Donoghue will present and co-produce Property View. She told ireland.comtoday she thought it was significant that there will be a dedicated property show on City Channel.
"Property programmes are as popular as holiday or health shows, and there is only really one other dedicated Irish property programme.
"We are now catching up with the likes of Channel 4 and producing a topical, contemporary show covering all aspects of buying and selling properties at home and abroad."
The service will be carried on the NTL digital platform in Dublin. Broadcasting to 100,000 homes initially, it will give City Channel a potential audience of 400,000 individuals in an area stretching from Dundalk to Greystones.
City Channel is backed by broadcaster and businessman David Harvey and a number of private investors. Mr Harvey said: "We are delighted to have such a high calibre of talented female journalists on our team.
"The range of experience each brings to their respective show will guarantee interesting television viewing to watch and ensure that it is of relevance to local audiences," he added.
