DUBLIN Corporation is to hold a competition for the design of a new pedestrian bridge over the Liffey.

DUBLIN Corporation is to hold a competition for the design of a new pedestrian bridge over the Liffey.

The reason for the bridge, according to the Corporation, is congestion on the Ha'penny Bridge, which might discourage people from shopping on the north side of the city.

Engineers and architects are asked to submit design applications.

The new bridge could cost about £1 million.
