Property buyers in Ireland will have access to a magazine fully dedicated to the property market with the launch of a new publication this weekend.
Irish Property Buyer will be available nationwide and is aimed at either first-time buyers or people who already have their feet on the property ladder.
The 124-page, full-colour bimonthly publication will cost €3.90 and have a print run of 20,000. There will be 36 pages of advertising in the first issue.
Irish Property Buyer will be available within the Republic.
A former Irish Times and Sunday Times journalist, Angela Long, is editing the magazine, with Ms Joan Fitzpatrick as managing director.
According to Mr Don Buckley, the publisher of Irish Property Buyer, Irish people are "extremely interested in property, almost obsessed", and his magazine will provide information for people who are interested in purchasing and keeping homes.
The first issue of the magazine includes an article by Dan McLaughlin, chief economist with Bank of Ireland, a consumer guide to mortgages by the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority and personal accounts of the house-buying experience.
Mr McLaughlin says affordability is the key to buying property.
Also included in the first issue is an interview with the Minister for Housing, Mr Ahern, in which he claims the Government does care that the average price of a starter home in Dublin is about €200,000.
