The latest referendum poll suggests that a majority of the Northern Ireland electorate will vote Yes, but that a quarter of voters are still undecided. The poll, commissioned by UTV and the Belfast Telegraph, has 52 per cent supporting the agreement, 20 per cent voting No and 25 per cent undecided.

The poll of 1,500 people from across the North was conducted by Market Research Northern Ireland between May 8th and 10th. This, however, was before the appearance of the Balcombe Street gang at the Sinn Fein ardfheis, and that of loyalist prisoner Michael Stone at an Ulster Democratic Party rally in Belfast.

Should the undecided voters break down half-and-half, then the Yes vote would be about 65 per cent.

According to the poll, 46 per cent of UUP voters support the deal, while 16 per cent are opposed and 35 per cent are undecided. Only 7 per cent of DUP voters accept the agreement. Overall, the poll has 34 per cent of Protestants voting Yes, 32 per cent No, and 31 per cent undecided.
