The chairman of the Moriarty tribunal has agreed to a request from lawyers for Mr Charles Haughey to consider overnight new submissions from his doctors.
Mr Justice Moriarty said yesterday that it had been indicated Mr Haughey's legal team would not be making a legal submission over his order that evidence should be heard "on commission" from the former Taoiseach.
Mr Justice Moriarty said he had been made aware of "certain medical matters" concerning the former Taoiseach and he was going to give these some consideration.
The tribunal is to sit again this afternoon to deal with, and possibly resolve, the issue of hearing further evidence from Mr Haughey.
