An Iraqi insurgent group posted a video on the Internet today showing the apparent beheading of two Iraqis it said had spied for the US military.

The tape issued by the Army of Ansar al-Sunna, a major insurgent group in Iraq, showed the two men admitting they had gathered information for US forces.

The men were later shown being beheaded by insurgents.

The video, which was dated September 12, 2005 was the first to show a beheading in several months.

The video showed both men being questioned by off camera insurgents about the way in which they found and gave information to US forces.

"Everyone who works with the Americans and Jews should leave their job. I advise everyone to join the Jihad (Holy War)," one of the Iraqis said.

The two men, sitting against a red-carpet backdrop, seemed calm when answering the questions.

The Iraqis were taken outside where they were held down, their heads severed and put on their bodies.
