Two fires which caused minor damage to homes in Co Derry are being treated as arson, the PSNI said today.

Two fires which caused minor damage to homes in Co Derry are being treated as arson, the PSNI said today.

A blaze at a shed next to a house at Thiepval Court, Limavady was reported shortly before 2am this morning.

It caused some scorched damage to a window of the home. Shortly afterwards, at around 2.30am another fire was discovered in a wheely bin at the back of a house in Josephine Avenue in the town, which damaged the bin and a kitchen window.

Police are treating both as arson and believe they are linked. They have appealed for witnesses.
