THE Northern Ireland Police Authority has confirmed that one of its members, an Ulster Unionist Party councillor, has agreed to supply information about his alleged conduct during the week of the Drumcree stand off.
This follows the naming of Mr Trevor Wilson, a UUP member of Cookstown Council, by the West Belfast MP, Dr Joe Hendron, in a House of Commons question to the Northern Secretary, Sir Patrick Mayhew.
Dr Hendron's question asks if the Northern Secretary "will confirm that the Police Authority for Northern Ireland are investigating claims that a member of the authority, Mr Trevor Wilson, was involved in an illegal loyalist blockade at Cookstown during the week prior to the 12th July, and if he will make a statement on this issue?"
Police Authority chairman, Mr Pat Armstrong, confirmed he raised the alleged incident with Mr Wilson.
