Growth in Northern Ireland's private sector economy continues to slow, according to the latest Ulster Bank Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI).

The seasonally adjusted Business Activity Index fell for the fifth consecutive month to a level of 53.7 in December compared to 53.9 the previous month.

The bank said this was in line with the general trend across the UK.

The index showed levels of business activity and new business orders grew for the 21st successive month in December, with companies reporting firm demand for their products.
