The winner of the British lottery's biggest payout has finally come forward to claim the £20 million plus prize - more than three weeks after the numbers were drawn.

The single winner or syndicate is from Northern Ireland and, according to the lottery organisers, Camelot, will face the press and cameras today.

Each day that the winner failed to claim the prize, interest of £2,200 was lost. Having £20,100,472 in the bank, however, growing bigger by the minute, should be sufficient consolation. Moreover, the lost interest will be used for charitable purposes.

The previous biggest single winner took home £16.7 million.
