PAGES of potentially sensitive information on security installations in Northern Ireland have been posted on the Internet.
The entry, detailed in today's London Times, was issued by Sinn Fein supporters working from the University of Texas. British police are studying the information which could contravene secrecy legislation, but are powerless to take any action. The site can be accessed across the world by Internet browsers.
Information revealed includes details of all the army's installations in Northern Ireland, of RUC operations and the addresses of an alleged MI5 base and two GCHQ substations. The addresses for the director and co ordinator of intelligence are given and a map showing all army bases. It names barracks which it claims have links with the SAS and Military Intelligence units and lists all purpose built army surveillance towers.
