Unions and management in the Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland (LTAI) dispute have met with the National Implementation Body (NIB).
Representatives from Siptu, Unite, the TEEU and the company met at Government Buildings this morning to discuss the future of the plant.
The aircraft maintenance firm placed the 465 workers at its Rathcoole plant in Dublin on protective notice on Wednesday.
The NIB has recommended that parties on both sides engage in intensive discussions presided over by Ibec and Ictu to secure a planned $40 million investment at the facility million and the jobs that are currently at risk.
"In the course of discussions, both sides recognised the seriousness of the situation and expressed a firm desire to reach a speedy solution in the interests of maintaining the Rathcoole facility," the NIB said in a statement.
"The Labour Court has stated that the overall imperative is to secure the contract for the new V2500 engine thus ensuring the continued viability of the company and the retention of 465 jobs in Rathcoole."
The discussions are expected to finish by April 28th. The NIB urged said neither side should take any action in the interim that might jeopardise the achievement of a successful outcome.
Siptu confirmed the talks had taken place and said the NIB is expected to contact both sides again shortly.
