Japan's Nikkei stock average rose 0.4 per cent today, with brewer Sapporo Holdings and car-maker Nissan making robust gains, though caution about a possible correction in the market remained strong.
The benchmark Nikkei gained 40.01 points to 9,826.27 after falling 3.5 per cent last week, its worst weekly performance in three months.
The Nikkei has risen some 45 percent from a March 10 low, and hit an eight-month high on June 12th.
The broader Topix rose 0.4 per cent to 922.48.
