Nine England soccer fans are still in custody in Munich.

German police say they were among 47 people, 35 of them British, arrested for alleged offences, ranging from drug matters to robbery.

The nine are expected to be presented to an examining magistrate today to see if further action should be taken.

Mr Eberhard Roese, vice-president of the Munich Police, has told a news conference at the police headquarters that 135 people, including 43 Britons, were taken into preventive detention.

They were released after last night's World Cup qualifying match between England and Germany.
