Celtic maintained their relentless march towards the Scottish league title when they won 3-1 at Aberdeen in a lunchtime kickoff today.
It was Celtic's 20th successive victory from 21 league matches this season. The win moved them up to 61 points, 14 clear of second-placed Rangers, who play Livingston at home later on Saturday.
Celtic never looked in doubt after goals from Stilian Petrov, who scored with a 25-metre drive after 30 minutes, and Henrik Larsson, who fired home from 18 metres after 43 minutes, gave them a 2-0 first-half lead over the lowly home side.
Stephen Pearson, their recent signing from Motherwell, put the game beyond Aberdeen's reach with his first for Celtic and their third after 58 minutes, before Stephen Tosh pulled one back for Aberdeen four minutes later.
Aberdeen remained 11th in the 12-team league, 10 points clear of bottom-placed Partick Thistle but two points behind Dundee and Kilmarnock.
