Colorado - A US grand jury has decided there is insufficient evidence to charge anyone with the murder of child beauty queen Jon-Benet Ramsey, ending a 13-month investigation.
On the day after Christmas, 1996, her mother, Ms Patsy Ramsey, said she found a ransom note in the family's home demanding £74,000 for Jon-Benet's return. Eight hours later, Mr John Ramsey found his daughter's body in a basement room.
The investigation was fractured by infighting between police and prosecutors. Two investigators resigned; one accused prosecutors of protecting the Ramseys, while the other contended officers were improperly targeting innocent people, including the Ramseys.
