THE Minister for Transport, Energy, and Communications, Michael Lowry, has strong views on illegal parking in Dublin city.
When he announced more Luas plans with the visiting EU Commissioner Monika Wulf-Mathies last week, he told reporters of his disgust at the behaviour of motorists who clogged up the city by their reckless parking.
He drove around Dublin every day, he said, and the level of indiscriminate and illegal parking is totally unacceptable".
As the reporters left they saw a ministerial Mere parked on double yellow lines outside Mr Lowry's Kildare Street office. It was Friday rush hour. A suit and tie, and even a blue shirt, hung in the back. It looked very much as if they could have fitted Michael Lowry.
