A jury at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin has failed to agree a verdict in the trial of a Wexford woman accused of impeding the murder investigation into a mother of two.

The body of Rebecca French (30) was discovered in the boot of a burning car on October 9th, 2009. She had been beaten to death and died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.

Helen Connors (25) with an address at Belvedere Grove, Wexford had denied the charge.

After more then five hours of deliberation over two days, the jury of eight men and four women told Mr Justice Garrett Sheehan that they could not reach agreement.
