Shares in Nokia Corp were sharply lower this afternoon after the company said its mobile phone market share was lower than expected last year, analysts said.
Nokia dropped euro 5.2 or 11.62 per cent to euro 39.6 as the market reacted with caution to figures released today.
The Finnish mobile phone company reported sales of 128 million handsets last year, five per cent off the 135 million analysts had been expecting.
One dealer said Nokia might have rushed to put the figures out ahead of Motorola's earnings report tomorrow night, which some say could miss its target.
