Dublin-based software firm Norkom has today reported that first-half profits rose 27 per cent.

Dublin-based software firm Norkom has today reported that first-half profits rose 27 per cent.

The firm, which develops software that helps banks prevent fraud, said earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation rose to €3.1 million, and that pretax profit rose to €2.24 million from a restated pretax profit of €1.75 million a year earlier.

Norkom said sales rose 53 per cent to €17.6 million, compared with €11.5 million for the same period in 2006.

Norkom said its results were helped by a 53 per cent rise in sales, and the company said it is positive on the outlook for the remainder of the financial year.

The period included its acquisition of Digital Harbor, which it purchased for €26.7 million on July 31st, and this contributed €0.9 million in two months of trading since completion.
