Seoul - Mr Kim Jong-il, the reclusive leader of North Korea, called for reunification with the South, the North's official media said yesterday.
In a letter dated April 18th, Mr Kim restated the North's oft-repeated conditions for reunification, including the withdrawal of some 37,000 US forces on the peninsula.
It was the North's first statement about relations with the South since the inauguration of the new South Korean President, Mr Kim Dae-jung, on February 25th.
