Cable television operator NTL Ireland recorded a fourth-quarter revenue figure of €27.7 million that was up 3.2 per cent on the same period last year.
The company said residential customers increased by about 4,100 to reach 347,800.
The group's UK parent company narrowed its losses sharply in the fourth quarter but said its network gained a mere 20,700 residential subscribers during the period.
The company, which offers telephone, TV and Internet services, said fourth-quarter revenue rose 5.3 per cent to £531.7 million.
Its net loss was £73.6 million, compared to £130.2 million a year earlier. Operating income, which excludes depreciation, amortisation and charges, rose 4.7 per cent to £181.5 million.
The company said "churn", or the percentage of subscribers who left the service, rose to 1.5 per cent as it "struggled to meet the challenges of aggressively clearing out non-paying customers" and implemented a new credit policy.
It added a gross of 185,200 subscribers during the quarter, including 162,100 on its own network, but only gained a net of 34,200, or 20,700 on its network.
