Racing: Aidan O'Brien's Moonstone and John Oxx's Katiyra, who finished second and third behind Look Here in the Epsom Oaks, are set to lock horns again in the Darley Irish Oaks at the Curragh on Sunday.

Both were put well in their place by Ralph Beckett's charge at Epsom, but as she will not be in Ireland, they hold strong claims of winning a Classic.

Moonstone has been installed as favourite with a general price available at anything from 6-4 to 9-4.

"Moonstone's run in the English Oaks entitles her to favouritism, but it definitely won't be a stroll in the park for Aidan O'Brien's charge," said Tony Kenny from William Hill.

In typical fashion, O'Brien is mob-handed at this stage with seven of the 18 possibles housed at his yard. Adored and the once-raced maiden winner Gentle On My Mind are among the interesting contenders from Ballydoyle.

Mad About You, second in the Pretty Polly Stakes, and Chinese White, unplaced at Epsom, give Dermot Weld a strong hand while Jim Bolger, another man to follow this season, can choose from Ard Fheis - who is due to run in a handicap at Naas on Wednesday - and Prima Luce.

He has decided against supplementing Lush Lashes.

Andre Fabre has a fascinating contender in Gagnoa, second behind Zarkava in the French Oaks last time.

British interests rest with Brian Meehan's Icon Project, Rae Guest's Rosa Grace and Mick Quinlan's Silk Affair.

The ground is yielding to soft on the straight course and yielding on the round course following two days of dry weather.

Racecourse general manager Paul Hensey said: "We have had a couple of nice drying days and while there is some rain forecast for tonight, weather prospects look a lot brighter for later in the week."
