Jack O'Connor will return to the Kerry helm after his appointment was ratified at a meeting of the county board this evening. O'Connor, who guided the county to two All-Ireland titles during his previous stint in charge, replaces Pat O'Shea.
O'Shea decided last month not to seek a third year in charge due to "personal and work reasons".
O'Connor, whose Kerins O'Rahillys side take on Mid Kerry in the county final next weekend, delivered titles to the Kingdom in 2004 and 2006.
He has been given a two-year term but the make-up of his new management team has yet to be established. It will be revealed at a meeting of the board at the start of December.
