Gardaí have put on display some of the firearms and offensive weapons surrendered during the recent weapons amnesty.
The weapons pictured here are currently in storage at Garda Headquarters, in Phoenix Park, Dublin.
Among the items put on display yesterday were a range of shotguns, revolvers, pistols, rifles, air pistols and a crossbow.
The haul included some items which date back to the first World War, one of which was a Bren light machine gun.
Each item will be examined by members of the Garda Technical Bureau before being destroyed.
While the latest Garda figures indicated 368 weapons were handed in, weapons surrendered on Tuesday, the last day of the amnesty, have not been included in that total.
Garda sources said when the final-day figures and totals from all stations are added, the figure is likely to climb much closer to 400 weapons.
The Department of Justice in coming days intends publishing a full itinerary of weapon types seized.
The completion of the two-month amnesty clears the way for the introduction of a new system of mandatory sentencing for firearms offences which came into effect yesterday.
Minister for Justice Michael McDowell has warned that there will be a far tougher regime for those who still hold illegal firearms.
