The Annual Dinner of the Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin was held at Dublin Castle recently and was presided over by the first woman master warden, Brother Ida Delamer. In her speech Mary Harney let the Brother aspect pass, but remarked that she wasn't surprised to see that their one honourary member, as listed on the menu card, hadn't turned up at the Castle. And who is the hon mem? None other than Charles J. Haughey.
