A gang of loyalists youths attacked and beat up the 14-year-old son of the Northern Ireland Police Ombudsman, Ms Nuala O'Loan, at the weekend.
Kieran O'Loan was chased by the gang as he walked through the Galgorm area of Ballymena with two friends.
He was singled out and punched to the ground and kicked by the gang of six youths.
Although he suffered bruises to his back and cuts to his face, he was not seriously injured.

The RUC would not confirm the victim's name but have said that they "are investigating an assault on a Catholic teenager in the Woodcroft area of the Galgorm Road at 9.30 on Friday night".
