A child was killed and more than a dozen people were wounded in a bomb blast today near Pakistan's aeronautical complex near Islamabad, officials said.

The explosion went off at a shop in the makeshift weekly vegetable bazaar set up near the sprawling Kama complex, about 75 km (50 miles) northwest of the capital.

"Some 15 or 16 people are injured," Brigadier Zafar Iqbal Cheema, a senior official at the Interior Ministry, told reporters.

No one claimed responsibility for the blast, the latest in a series of attacks across Pakistan in recent months.
