NAIROBI - One person was killed when a suspected bomb exploded, in a government building in central Nairobi yesterday, state run radio reported. The explosion occurred early in the morning at the entrance of the building, which houses the government's statistics offices, the radio said.
It quoted police as saying they could not immediately establish what caused the blast because the exploding device apparently left no trace of shrapnel. The victim was identified as a worker in the building. Few people were in the building at the time of the blast.
