At least 20 people were killed and tens more injured when a container truck ploughed into a crowded Yemeni market place today and then overturned.
Witnesses said the driver had lost control of the truck after its brakes failed. They said the truck slammed into several cars - injuring their passengers - before it finally fell over, crushing more people underneath.
The accident occured in Yarim, a small town some 100 kilometres from the port city of Aden. Road accidents are common in Yemen, a mountainous country with poor infrastructure.
