Music giant EMI has announced plans to cut up to 2,000 jobs in a bid to save €200 million ($392 million) per year.
The restructuring plan comes after the loss of several of the company's biggest acts over the last year and a sales slump.
Industry analysts blame a poor schedule release for 2007 and doubts about EMI's new management's business style, alongside increased control by artists on how their music is marketed.
Terra Firma bosses, who took over the music megalith last year, have been accused by Radiohead, who left the label, of being "like confused bulls in a china shop".
