More than 50,000 people are expected to attend the Tullamore and AIB National Livestock Show which takes place on Sunday, August 8th.
Last year’s event, following two years of cancellation because of flooding, re-established the event as the Republic’s foremost livestock and agricultural show.
This year’s event will feature 1,000 exhibitor competitions, and will feature a gold medal award for livestock. Also featuring will be the national shows for the Limousin and Hereford cattle breeds. There will be 650 trade exhibitors on the 250-acre show grounds.
Changes of date have also been announced for two other agricultural shows this year.
The Virginia Show in Co Cavan, which traditionally took place midweek, is moving to Saturday, July 31st.
Also changing date is the Iverk Show in Piltown, Co Kilkenny. It is moving to a new date on the last Saturday in August, August 28th. It was traditionally held on the first Thursday in September.
