An estimated 90,000 people are expected to attend the FÁS Opportunities 2006 fair at the Croke Park Exhibition Centre this weekend.
FÁS Opportunities 2006 - which is billed as the largest career, education and skills showcase in Europe - begins today and continues till Monday
FÁS anticipates that up to 10 per cent of the 90,000 attendees will be migrant workers looking to progress their careers in Ireland.
Of the 86,500 jobs created last year, almost half were taken up by migrant workers. There are now 170,000 non-nationals working in Ireland.
As well as showcasing career and college opportunities the fair will also be promoting a wide range of apprenticeships and traineeships available with practical demonstrations taking place over the four days - including hairdressing, bricklaying; carpentry, jewellery design and many more.
