The owners of the Jeanie Johnston Famine replica ship will apply to the High Court next Tuesday for permission to finish work on the vessel.
On February 6th, the court made an order for the arrest of the vessel. The order was sought by counsel for an electrical contracting company, M.J. Marshall Electrical, of Muckross Grove, Killarney. The company claims to be owed some €170,000 for work on the ship, materials and services.
Yesterday, Mr Denis McDonald SC, for the owners of the vessel, the Jeanie Johnston (Ireland) Company Limited, told the President of the High Court, Mr Justice Finnegan, he was seeking a date for the hearing of an urgent motion to permit his client to re-commence work on the vessel.
The judge gave leave to serve notice of the proceedings and returned the matter to Tuesday.
