Traffic around Dublin is reported to be even worse than normal as festival-goers head towards Oxegen in Co Kildare.
AA Roadwatch is reporting serious delays on the M1 and M50 and approach routes.
The M50 is said to be congested the whole way to the N7/Red Cow exit as people head to the Oxegen site at Punchestown.near Naas. The Long Mile Road is backed up as far as Crumlin.
M50 Northbound traffic is heavy from the Tallaght exit to the toll plaza. Traffic on the northbound off-ramp heading on to the N81/Tallaght Bypass is also reported to be extremely heavy.
Naas in Co Kildare is at a standstill.
The M7 is also very heavy, and shuttle buses from Parnell Square are taking several hours to arrive at the Oxegen site.
All traffic traveling on the M7 must use Park & Ride at Goff's to access Punchestown.
Dart services are were delayed for a short period this afternoon due to a truck hitting a bridge. The crash took place at South Lotts Road near Grand Canal Dock Station. All Dart trains were suspended between Pearse Street and Lansdowne Road stations.
Train services are now back to normal, but witnesses have reported serious congestion.
