Finnish striker Mixu Paatelainen is to leave Hibernian

Finnish striker Mixu Paatelainen is to leave Hibernian. The 34-year-old former Wolves and Bolton frontman has not been able to agree a new contract to stay at Easter Road.

Hibernian managing director Rod Petrie said: "Our talks have come to an end on an amicable note and Mixu is pursuing other avenues."

Paatelainen's final game for the Hibees was the Scottish Cup final defeat by Celtic last month.

A move to America is now on the cards, with Colorado Rapids known to be interested.
