Paddy Power confirms Woods offer

Paddy Power claim to have had a €82.9 million offer to sponsor Tiger Woods for five years rejected

Paddy Power claim to have had a €82.9 million offer to sponsor Tiger Woods for five years rejected. The Irish bookmaker company admitted last night it was in negotiations with the world number one.

And this morning it released a statement which read: "Following recent international media coverage of Paddy Power's negotiations with IMG to sponsor Tiger Woods, the company confirms that its initial offer covering a five-year period for a total potential sponsorship of $75 million has been rejected by IMG.

"Paddy Power remains keen to work with Tiger Woods, and will re-engage with IMG. An enhanced offer will be made, the details of which will remain confidential."

Woods is four titles short of matching Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 majors, but has not played this year and recently apologised for the extra-marital affairs which have turned his life upside down.
