Karachi - The death toll from a cyclone in southern Pakistan has risen to at least 127, with more than 1.5 million people affected, the official news agency said yesterday.
Rescue officials said more than 100 small villages were destroyed by Cyclone "2A" which hit coastal areas of Sindh early on Thursday. They estimated that 1,200 people were still missing. It quoted the Relief Commissioner, Mr Javed Ashraf, as saying 1.5 million people had been affected, with their homes or crops damaged or their livestock killed.
