A Palestinian man has died from wounds inflicted yesterday by Israeli troops in the West Bank village of Beit Imkin, near Nablus.
Taher Abdu, 23, who was reported to be mentally retarded, was seriously wounded yesterday after Israeli soldiers called on him to stop for an identity check.
He was evacuated to a hospital in Israel, where he later died.
His death brings to 3,236 the number of people killed since the Palestinian intifada, or uprising, broke out in September 2000, including 2,445 Palestinians and 731 Israelis.
