At least 11 people have been killed after two explosions at the Israeli port of Ashdod.
The Palestinian militant groups Hamas and the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed joint responsibility for an attack, Hizbollah's al-Manar television reported. The station said it received a telephone call claiming the attack.
Earlier witnesses at the busy port reported seeing two suspicious figures entering seconds before the blasts occurred at separate sites. According to medical sources, at least a dozen people were wounded in the incident. Earlier a gas explosion was blamed for the incident.
The blast ripped through warehouses at the port - one of Israel's busiest. Israel's ports have been on alert for possible seaborne attacks.
