Palestinian police have arrested a man in connection with their investigaiton into the Gaza kidnapping last week of three British citizens who have since been released.
The man, a local member of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the armed wing of the mainstream Fatah movement, was whisked into an unmarked car by unidentified men in the town of Rafah.
An official told Reuters "he was arrested for interrogation about involvement in the kidnapping".
The three hostages, human rights worker Kate Burton and her parents, were freed on Friday after two days in captivity. They were seized by a previously unknown group that called itself the Brigades of the Mujuhideen-Jerusalem.
