Tesco said yesterday that supplies of paracetamol in its shops in the Republic are not affected by a recall in Britain.
Half a million packs of paracetamol tablets with the wrong dosage instructions have been recalled in Britain amid fears that the lives of young children could be at risk.
About 400,000 of the 16- and 32-caplet packs were delivered to the Tesco and Co-op supermarkets and the Unichem pharmacy chain in Britain.
A spokeswoman for Tesco in Ireland said the brands in question are not sold in the Republic.
