Four members of the Workers' Party have settled their claim in the Circuit Civil Court for alleged defamation against Tribune Publications Ltd and Mr Matt Cooper, editor of the Sunday Tribune. The action had been taken by Mr Patrick Quearney, Mr Sean McCarthy, Mr Sean O Cionnaith and Ms Mary Diskin. Mr Seamas O Tuathail, counsel for the plaintiffs, told Circuit Court President Mr Justice Esmond Smyth the proceedings could be adjourned generally with liberty to reenter. He said the matter "would not trouble the court".
