Party of six take over Rubicon

Six o'clock and all is well at the Rubicon Gallery for the opening of a group exhibition

Six o'clock and all is well at the Rubicon Gallery for the opening of a group exhibition. The work of six artists is about to be unveiled. Laura Buckley, Robbie O'Halloran, Bart O'Reilly, Alice Peillon and Co∅l∅n Rush are centre stage. Only Tadhg McSweeney is missing, as he's presenting work for his degree in painting. Will he make it to the opening or not? Fingers are crossed. Also present is Rubicon boss Josephine Kelliher, who will make a mad dash to Europe the next day, jetting off to Paris first to attend the opening of an exhibition of work by artist Eithne Jordan (Neil's sister), at the Centre Culturel Joδl-Le-Theule (running until Sunday, July 15th). Then it's off to Venice with the busy Kerry woman to attend the Biennale and the opening of the Irish pavilion on Thursday next. Happy to be present also is the former London-based art dealer turned artist, Anthony Collins, who studied at the National College of Art and Design, graduating with tonight's starring six in 1999. He's here to wish them well. His own interactive work, along with Michael Canning, will be on view at the Oisin Gallery in September.
