Rabat - - US writer and composer Paul Bowles, whose works reflected his cosmopolitan lifestyle and free spirit, died yesterday, aged 88, in a Tangiers hospital of a heart attack, medical sources said.
He had lived in Morocco since 1952.
He is best known for his novel The Sheltering Sky (1949), which was later adapted for film by Hollywood. Other titles include Let It Come Down (1952), The Spider's House (1955) and Up Above the World (1966).
