Manila - President Joseph Estrada of the Philippines yesterday "indefinitely" suspended peace talks with communist rebels and ordered the military to punish the "treachery" of the insurgents who kidnapped two army officers and a policeman.
A New People's Army (NPA) guerrilla spokesman said: "We are very much ready to pursue a protracted people's war."
