IF you thought bikers were a hairy, undisciplined lot of reprobates, take a look at the list of people lining up to take part in the second Bikers for Breast Cancer Run on Saturday 29th. Some of the 50 bikers who will be on the run from Dublin to Wicklow include Harley owner 2FM DJ Tony Fenton; Breda Clifford, MD of Clio Forde who recently joined the biker brigade; solicitor Gerard Keane (his Harley owner wife Clodagh is expecting their first child soon); Nick Koumonrianos of Cable & Wireless; Tom Moran, CEO of Mutual of America; Jobn Paul, Patrick and Tony Fitzpatrick of Fitzpatrick Hotels and menswear man Jim Monagban. Last year's run raised a much-appreciated £20,000 for the International Breast Cancer Foundation of Ireland.
This year Brian Brennan of the Arklow Bay Hotel in Wicklow will host a barbecue for the bikers when they roar into town during which several prizes will be awarded, including one for Best Biker's Babe (!). Your bike doesn't have to be a Harley, a racy Honda 50 will do - though you might just feel a bit sheepish sidling up to all those Hogs. Call 01-288-4770 for sponsorship cards.
