A 50-year-old man died yesterday evening when he was struck by a car as he crossed the main street in the village of Piltown, Co Kilkenny.
The victim, who was not named, was from Co Waterford. Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Carrick On Suir on (051) 640024.
A 60-year-old cyclist died last evening after his bicycle was in collision with a van at Aghadrina, Castlebar, Co Mayo. The man was from the area.
